Katie Matzdorf, AuD
Dr. Matzdorf entered the field because she loves how audiology is a combination of clinical problem-solving and patient care. She earned her Doctor of Audiology from Ohio University and her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology & Audiology from Towson University. She completed her externship at River ENT in Austin, Texas.
Dr. Matzdorf appreciates working in an ENT setting because not only is she able to assist patients who receive medical care from the physicians, but she also can build relationships with them and support them on their journey toward better hearing health. Being part of this process is incredibly fulfilling for her, as she makes a positive impact on their lives while collaborating closely with a dedicated team of professionals.
Dr. Matzdorf believes that working with physicians and otolaryngologists has provided her with knowledge that not every audiologist has access to. Being able to work inter-professionally has given her significant insight into the hearing and balance systems, which in turn aids her in treating patients more accurately and effectively. This collaborative approach enriches her practice and enhances the quality of care she can provide.
Originally from the East Coast, Dr. Matzdorf has a family that includes her parents, brother, sister, cousins and aunt, who currently reside in Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She misses them all the time and always looks forward to visiting. Since moving to Texas, she has been fortunate to create new familial connections; last year, she met her partner and his son, who bring constant laughs and joy into her life.
